VALUE ADDED SERVICES
Psychiatrist
Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose, treat, and prevent mental, emotional, and behavioural disorders with the use of medication, neuromodulation, and psychotherapy.

Psychiatrists are often involved where there are other mental health difficulties along with learning difficulties, such as in the case of autism, etc and they prescribe and monitor medication.

Psychiatrists work with children and young people who have learning disabilities together with a wide range of mental health problems including emotional and psychiatric problems.
They often work with others such as psychologists, special educators, occupational therapists, etc to assess, manage and treat people. Their primary responsibility is to identify the problem for the young people and advise on what may help.

We at Tacit EduTech have in place empanelled psychiatrists who you can reach out to fix an appointment in person or for an online consultation.

Psychologists
Psychologists apply psychology theories in understanding, explanation, prediction, control, and solve problems of special needs children. Psychologists are not medical doctors and as such cannot prescribe medicines.

Psychologists play an important role in special education, they assess children for learning disabilities and other possible mental health problems and devise therapies that will help the children. They play a crucial role in giving inputs so that an appropriate Individualised Education Plan (IEP) can be developed for the child.

Psychologists offer services such as specialised assessment, psychological therapies and interventions, skills training, pain management, positive behaviour support, communication techniques, and environmental strategies to the child and supportive counselling and therapy for the parents and family when required.

They share findings from psychological tests and observations and coordinate care and treatment with others such as psychiatrists, occupational therapists and special educators as and when needed.

Occupation Therapists
Occupational therapy (OT) may sound like it involves finding a job or developing work skills, but it actually deals with strengthening fine motor skills.
These skills include tasks like writing, using scissors, tying shoes, and using utensils. OT is commonly used in children's special education programs. They focus on three key areas school, play, and social interaction with friends.

An OT helps children to participate and interact with others. They may suggest aids for writing and other activities like other children. Children with special needs may also require special furniture to help them sit and write better.
The OT focuses on how to help a child to perform and be independent in self-care skills like eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc. They also use techniques from physiotherapy when applicable.

Family Empowerment Program
We at Tacit EduTech strongly recognize that a child with Special education Needs (SEN) requires the support and understanding of their family to reach their potential.
Families also recognize this but are often at a loss as how to go about it when they face day to day challenges when dealing with their child with Special Education Needs. There are also parents who are as yet unaware of the actual diagnosis, the prognostic implications and long-term outcomes for their child.

We at Tacit EduTech have therefore devised a specific 5 module course to help empower parents so that they have a better understanding of their child’s challenges, the expected outcome, the interventions that are possible and what they can do as parents to facilitate and enrichen the process for their child.

We have devised this as a mix of self-learning modules and interactive sessions so that it enables you to learn at your own pace while at the same time enables you to learn directly from experts in the field thus optimising your learning experience.
